A recent discussion with friends about the nature of photography and its future led me to claim the fact that this very artistic domain and media must remain a pictorial one. The following of pictures are an illustration of this statement. Yet it is in black and white and I earlier explained what is my feeling towards black and white photography but up to some extends it can serve the purpose of pictorialism against eye-candy. Photography must be illustrative or narrative … never decorative. Meaning is in the picture itself and goes towards the viewer and initiates a dialog… That’s a key function of the artwork… If modern photography fails in this task it will not bean art but a mean of distraction!
I recently updated my picasa web gallery. Duplicate have been removed and extra pictures have been added in several sections. Enjoy.

Some of the Photomaps are part of the summer show taking place in l’ESPACE CORDERO, 7 rue des Bons Enfants 37000 Tours. The prints are of various scales (from 20cm to 120cm). Since its a collective, massive, extensive show dedicated to introduce the “stock artists” to the mases, they are some surprising encounters between the presented works. Those prints are (of course) for sale from 250€ to 35€ depending on the size.
